Integrated Cancer Care in Pets

Some advice and suggestions for an holistic approach with or without conventional surgery and therapies such as radio or chemo-therapy
Diet is the most important factor perhaps

Feed a fresh natural diet preferably raw foods.
You can now find a lot of information on line about raw feeding start with this website and follow the links.
It will make a huge difference to your companions wellbeing and immune system.

Limit carbohydrates as much as possible which feed the cancer - No dog food or human treats biscuits etc. Sugars feed cancer fats are fine
Raw meats, some offals, eggs oily fish and raw juiced or minced vegetables
Include some brassicas e.g. Kale broccoli cabbage dark green veg

Supplements:

Herbal Supplements

A. Medicinal Mushrooms
I tend to use Myconutri or Corpet

B.
Other Herbs

I will prescribe various herbs depending on the patient and the type of tumour you can get Apocaps a combination of herbs sometime given with the medicinal mushrooms such as turkey tail, cordeceps etc

C.
Mistletoe This is generally given by injections and can only be given by prescription and in person

D.
Hemp (CBD) Oils see this section for more information but also a prescription only medicine in the UK for animals. I can advise on it's use and brands to give.

Homeopathic remedies

I will prescribe those based on the patient’s clinical signs etc.

Acupuncture

Useful to prevent nausea for example with chemo and pain

Conventional Therapies

Surgery

Chemotherapy

Radiotherapy

in addition to this in many cases, holistic medicine can help boost the immune system and reduce metastatic spread and reduce the pain and side affects of such treatments. You should completely avoid these treatments there is a lot to be said for an fully integrated approach.

An increasing number of oncologists recognise the value of herbs, acupuncture and other modalities used along side conventional treatments

Herbs and Mistletoe and the other complementary therapies can and often should be given along site surgery and chemo or radiotherapy for the best results Please ask for more advice
